Delete your account
You can delete your MyTradeBuddy account at any time. This page covers how to do it in the MyTradeBuddy app for iPhone and Android, on the web or by email, and what happens to your data. MyTradeBuddy is made by Beluga AI Ltd.
In the app
- Open the MyTradeBuddy app and sign in.
- Tap More, then Settings, then Legal.
- Tap Delete my account. The app shows what will happen before anything is deleted.
- Type DELETE and confirm.
On the web
Sign in at app.mytradebuddy.co and go to Settings, then Delete account. You can also get there from My account.
By email
If you can't sign in, or you no longer have the app, email info@mytradebuddy.co with the subject "Delete my account". Send it from the email address you sign in with, so we know the request is yours. We'll reply to confirm and have it done within 30 days.
If you work for a business
Your login is deleted straight away. You're signed out on every device and the login can't be used again. We email you to confirm.
If you own the business
Deleting your account closes the business's account as well, so someone from our team handles it. The same goes if you're the business's only admin. We have it done within 30 days, the app shows you the date, and you can cancel the request until we start.
Before anything is deleted, we'll email you to agree what happens to your customers, jobs, invoices and phone numbers, and help you download your records.
If someone is taking over the business, make them the owner on the Team page first. Then you can delete just your own login and the business carries on.
What we delete
- Your login: your name, email address and sign-in details.
- Alerts on your phone and your notification settings.
- Any Google or iPhone calendar you linked. We remove the link and cancel our access to your Google Calendar.
- Your progress through the app's tutorials.
What we keep, and for how long
Jobs, notes, photos and anything else you added for a business belong to that business, so they stay with it and show your name as a former team member. If you want your details taken off their records too, ask the business.
We keep a few records of our own:
- A short record of your request (your name, email address, the dates and what we did), as proof that we deleted your account.
- The record of when you agreed to our terms.
- If your business paid us for a plan, our invoices and payment records for it, which UK tax law says we must keep.
We keep these for up to 7 years after your account is deleted, as our Privacy Policy sets out. When a business closes, UK law asks it to keep its own invoices and payment records for 6 years, which is why we help you download them first.
Not a MyTradeBuddy user?
If a trade business that uses MyTradeBuddy has your details, for example after you called them or asked for a quote, that business decides what happens to them. Ask them to delete your details. If you're not sure which business it is, email info@mytradebuddy.co and we'll pass your request on.
