- Rated People runs a subscription-plus-credits model: reports put the popular plan at about £35 a month plus VAT, including roughly £45 plus VAT of lead credits, with extra leads at around £15 each.
- Plans vary by trade and region, typically £30–£60 a month. Rated People's own site describes the Fixed Plan as a 12-month term, priced by phone, and a free-to-join Opportunities Board where you pay per lead you unlock.
- Several firms can buy the same job, so judge it on cost per booked job over a real month, and note the 12-month term before signing.
How Rated People charges in 2026
Rated People's tradesperson page describes two routes. The Fixed Plan is a monthly subscription on a 12-month term, priced by trade and area over the phone. The Opportunities Board is free to join, and you pay only when you choose to unlock a lead. The site does not publish £ figures for either.
Independent reviews fill the gap. The most-quoted plan is about £35 a month plus VAT and includes roughly £45 plus VAT of lead credits to spend each month; extra leads are around £15 each; plans run £30–£60 a month depending on trade category. That makes Rated People cheaper per month than a typical Checkatrade membership and dearer per lead than Bark's cheapest requests, with the same shared-enquiry mechanics as both.

Is it worth it?
Rated People suits firms that want to pick their jobs rather than take whatever a membership sends, and that can call back within minutes. The subscription is modest, the credits inside it cover a handful of leads, and the marginal lead is cheap enough to test.
Two cautions. The 12-month term means a slow start is expensive to leave. And a shared job is a shared job: budget for the leads you buy and do not win. The comparison with Checkatrade is here, and the five-way directory comparison sets all of them side by side.
If you would rather pay for outcomes than for contact details, MyTradeBuddy runs the other model: demand generated for one business per area, every enquiry answered and chased, and a bill per booked survey with no monthly fee. It is built for survey-led work, not small call-outs.
